Meet Leanne Wait –
Your Partner in Pelvic Health
Kia ora, I’m Leanne – experienced pelvic health physiotherapist, lifelong learner, and someone who believes in meeting you exactly where you are. With over 30 years as a physiotherapist, and more than 20 years focusing on my special interest in pelvic and pelvic floor health, I’ve had the privilege of helping many people reclaim comfort, confidence, and control in their lives.
My approach is holistic and gentle. I see you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms. Whether you’re seeking answers, ready to make changes, or simply want to feel like yourself again, I’m here to support you – every step of the way.
You are in the right place if you value evidence, partnership, and genuine care, you’ll feel right at home here. Our sessions are guided by curiosity to work out why and when and how, along with compassion, and respect for your autonomy. We’ll work together to uncover what’s really going on, so you can make informed choices and move forward with confidence.
I believe knowledge truly is power - and freedom
the more we know the better we can be.
I have a passion for education and empowerment and have presented to many local community groups and medical, health and well-being and fitness professional groups, run dozens of workshops, and presented at national conference level. Most recently I am so proud to have been involved with Continence NZ to write the content for a free to download Pelvic Health Pregnancy Guide which has been paired with videos for a Pelvic Health Video Guide.

Leanne Wait – Pelvic Health Physiotherapist
Behind The Scenes
Kia ora, I’m Leanne Wait, a passionate and dedicated pelvic health physiotherapist, and the heart behind Inside Out Physiotherapy.
I grew up in Wellington and have called Hawke’s Bay home since graduating from physiotherapy school in Dunedin. Life here has been full — I’ve built my career, raised two wonderful (now adult) children, and poured my energy into helping others live with confidence, comfort, and strength.
My journey into pelvic health began long before I even knew it. As a young gymnast, I pushed my body to its limits without realising the impact intense training could have on the pelvic floor. Later, after the birth of my first child in 2000, I had a profound realisation: despite all my training as a physiotherapist, no one had prepared me for the realities of pregnancy, birth, and recovery. That moment sparked a lifelong mission.
Over the past 20+ years, I’ve specialised in pelvic health through extensive training, education, and clinical practice. Along the way, I’ve worked in both hospital and private practice settings, completed a postgraduate diploma, and had the privilege of supporting countless people through some of the most personal and challenging chapters of their lives.
Pelvic health is not always an easy journey. It takes courage to seek support, and I deeply admire the bravery of every person who walks through my door. My role is to meet you with compassion, share the knowledge I’ve gathered, and provide the tools to restore confidence in your body.
A little about me
Born in Wellington, living in Hawke’s Bay ever since.
Proud mum to two adult children.
Lover of walking, mindfulness, pilates, and yoga.
Summer enthusiast — I love our New Zealand summers, sun, camping (when the kids were little), batches and boating- you’ll sometimes still find me wakeboarding or waterskiing if the water is super flat.
Passionate educator (and sometimes called a “vagician,” “pelvic pro,” or “fanny physio” 💜).
Above all, my purpose is simple: to improve quality of life by educating, empowering, and preventing pelvic health issues.
I’m here to help you reconnect with your body — from the inside out.
